Have you noticed how loads of shops associate themselves with football when the World Cup is on when ordinarily they have nothing to do with sport whatsoever.
Like our local Coles Supermarket are selling Socceroos footballs in "bargain alley". (They also have Cadbury's chocolate blocks at 2 for $5, which is a bargain worth writing about). But selling footballs in a supermarket is cheating.
I also saw Borders (bookshop) had a huge cutout of Les Murray wrapped in a Socceroos scarf in their window. I mean come on.
I am waiting for the moment I am offered a flag and an Australia t-shirt when filling up my car.
