Goodbye World Cup

You weren't bad. You weren't that great either.

Although I wanted Holland to win, by the end I was just glad there was a goal and it was all over. Spain deserved to win, Holland were a kicking disgrace and they can stop blaming our referee.

In the end, though, football wasn't the real winner, It was Paul the psychic octopus, the true star of South Africa 2010.

So Spain won hey? It really was a case of bad defense by the Dutch wasn't it? I mean yeah ok the freekick off the wall should have resulted in a corner instead of the goal kick, but you can't blame that.

You can blame Rodden for not scoring twice though.

All in all, I give the World Cup Final: 4 Vuvuzelas out of 10.

It's all about the money

Glad to see you're focussing on personal gain now @Groo541. I was gutted to see ARG going out to GER because a) it was Germany and b) I had $20 on Argentina to win.

I still have $20 on Holland though, surely they can beat Uruguay and get to the finals at least.

I want more red cards, handballs and controversy now. I want the final to be decided on penalties and see 4 people sent off.

Still watching...

Went straight home and saw Argentina v Mexico last Sunday, and haven't stopped since.

I don't have any strong feelings for anyone, although I was pleased the Netherlands beat Brazil, and delighted to see Portugal go out. Want Argentina to win tonight, and probably overall. Was supporting Ghana yesterday but more pleased to see some drama.

Be glad when it's all over though, and we can get back to 'proper' club football.

My lowest World Cup moment - possibly more painful than England losing which was entirely inevitable - came on Monday when Slovakia scored a completely undeserved 93rd minute penalty v the Netherlands. I had money on a 2-0 final score and was already spending my winnings.

Stop sulking

Ok, I cannot continue to sulk over England. I made myself watch the end of the Uruguay v Ghana game just now and I'm glad I did.

1-1 after 90 mins, extra time, last minute handled ball off the line, Ghana penalty hits the crossbar, penalty shootout... what an end to a game.

I'm pretty sad for Ghana, I would have loved them to go through (even though I tipped U-r-gay in the company tipping comp) but again, what an end to a game.

I think I want to start watching the semi's now.
